Invisible / Frameless Doors

Give doorways a clean, seamless look with no visible casing or trim. We prepare drywall and door jambs for flush, frameless installation, so the door reads as part of the wall — not a separate frame. Works for new construction, remodels, and modern interiors where minimalist lines matter.

WHAT A FLUSH, INVISIBLE DOOR LOOKS LIKE

From Rough Opening to Finished Jamb

Door jambs and surrounding drywall finished flush, so the frame disappears once the door is hung.

What we do

About the Invisible / Frameless Door Prep

Whether you’re closing off a room, upgrading a hallway, or finishing a new build, invisible door prep removes the visual clutter of standard casing and trim. We square the rough opening, finish the jamb flush with the wall, and prep the surrounding drywall so the door reads as part of the wall, not a separate frame.

HOW IT'S DONE • SAN jose
WHAT'S INCLUDED

What Makes a Door Truly "Invisible"

1. Rough Opening Prep

The jamb opening is squared and checked for level before any drywall goes up, so the frame sits perfectly flush from the start.

2. Jamb & Return Taping

The drywall return around the door gets taped and coated with the same care as any visible wall — this edge shows more than most.

3. Flush Corner Buildup

Multiple coats build a crisp, square corner where the wall meets the jamb — no rounded edges, no visible seam.

4. Precision Sanding

The reveal line is sanded to a consistent width top to bottom — an uneven gap is the fastest way to ruin the "invisible" look.

5. Paint-Ready Flush Finish

The surrounding drywall is brought to a Level 4 or 5 finish, matched to the rest of the room's walls.

6. Door Set, Frame Disappears

Once painted the same color as the wall, the frame reads as part of the surface — not a separate piece.

We’d give 10 stars if we could! Sergei is trustworthy, reliable, methodical, efficient, and highly skilled. We had saved up a bunch of dissimilar drywall repair projects so that we could tackle them at once. Sergei clearly explained what was necessary for each project, prioritized the work, and got everything done with great results. He didn’t compromise the quality of the job by rushing through the steps. He kept our house as reasonably clean as you can keep a house when having drywall work done.

Sam is incredible! He’s friendly, quick to respond and even takes time to teach me things when I ask. He works efficiently and his prices are incredibly reasonable. His quality of work is excellent. I’ve hired him for multiple different house projects, renovations and repairs and he consistently does a great job. I will continue to use his services and refer him to friends that need help with house projects.

FAQ

What people usually ask

How do you determine when drywall is finished?

We follow the industry guidelines established in GA-214 (Gypsum Association) for Level 4 and Level 5 drywall finishes. Final surfaces are evaluated under normal lighting conditions after the compound has fully cured and the walls are ready for primer or paint.

Like all professional drywall contractors, we do not evaluate finishes using harsh side lighting, flashlights, or lights held directly against the wall. Extreme lighting can highlight minor surface variations that are not visible under normal everyday conditions and are not considered installation defects under industry standards.

If you have specific lighting conditions or premium finish requirements, we’re happy to discuss the appropriate finish level before work begins.

Yes we can convert a door you already have in a finished home, not just during new construction or a full remodel. We open the wall around the jamb, square it, and finish it flush, then patch and blend the surrounding drywall so there’s no sign anything was touched. Ceiling height and the existing rough opening need to allow for it we’ll confirm that’s the case before you commit to anything.

Yes — squaring the opening and finishing the jamb flush takes more labor than hanging a standard door with casing. We’ll give you a clear number at the walkthrough.
