Venetian plaster needs a perfectly smooth, Level 5 surface to start. How you get there depends on where the project begins: on an existing wall, we strip old texture or failing paint and skim-coat it to a true Level 5 finish; on new construction, the drywall is framed, hung, and finished to Level 5 from day one. From that point, the process is identical — a specialty primer, then 3 to 8 hand-troweled and burnished coats of plaster, locked in with a protective sealer. The exact coat count depends on the surface and the depth of finish you want, and we confirm it during your on-site estimate.
